Mic Check: Women Who Build the Narrative is a curated Wake Up Squad Uncut program that blends conversation and scripted audio storytelling to examine legacy, authorship, and narrative ownership in media. The series honors the women who build platforms, shape culture, and turn voice into lasting influence.
The Wake Up Squad is a popular, all-female morning radio show on KCEP Power 88.1 FM in Las Vegas, airing Monday through Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m.. Known for authentic conversations, high energy, and community engagement, the team includes Amber Blow ("Ambeezy"), Comedienne AK, and Notaboi DJ, focusing on local, urban, and community-driven content.In addition to their stage work and DJ roles, the Wake Up Squad writes, produces, and voice acts 'As The Mic Turns' - an audio drama short series they share throughout this episode.
