Episode 065: For B, Burdon, Nakba75, Mothers, Turkish Election Runoff
Lots to commemorate, reflect, and celebrate here. Happy Birthday to Bernadette-- Head East fan from Austria via Madrid and happy 83rd to Sir Eric Burdon for starters.
Happy mothers day to all the mothers and those that do motherly work!
Turkish Elections are going into a run off-- we'll hear Selda protest the times of 50 years ago when most of their current politicians were starting the careers they are still in today.
At this month, all sympathies and solidarities to the Palestinians of the world-- commemorating 75 years of refugee-hood, patience, resistance and *resilience*-- the "Samidin", the "sumud". There's no grey area interpretation of what apartheid looks like, no "cycle of violence" as CNN might have you believe, and no "religious conflict"-- it is apartheid, it is ethnic cleansing and the reality should be understood. Get involved-- go to the rally downtown May 21st, 1:30pm!
