These donations mean everything to our humble yet ultra-active little station in Portland, Oregon. Like the Hollywood Theater and our amazing selection of live music venues, we are one of the remaining institutions that is keeping our city informed politically and musically, and that helps us stay socially connected.

Personally, I only get my news from "Democracy Now!", which is regularly available on our station but I've also learned so much about new music from XRAY since its inception. Remember that kid in high school (let's call him Spottie Fry)  who thought he knew everything about music but really didn't know jack? He just made you think he did by always pushing the tastes already herded and popularized by others?

Well, we're not Spottie and we are not AI (unless the 'A' stands for analog)-- we are the cool older sister/brother you had who was always exposing you to new tunes and bands you should listen to-- or that moppy-haired record store clerk that always made time to go deep into scenes and bands that were missed by the masses. We are those characters to Portland and all our streaming listeners around the world but that only happens through community support.

In my first dozen shows of HEAD EAST on XRAY, I can't tell you how much I've been blown away by the non-stop volunteerism to solve technical challenges with everything from the signal challenges to board support in our tiny studio.  We also come together to lend our ears and high fives for all the killer shows that get made-- and there are a lot of killer shows that deliver spot-on, blissed-out curation. These smooth cats on air make it look easy sometimes, but there is soooooo much to do everyday on an ongoing basis and we need your help.

Monthly members bring a lot of certainty to our future but anything you can afford to give us helps to keep us healthy and maintain the important institution of odd, lovable, and curious community radio. -- @headeastradio
