New Music Monday’s is a podcast hosted by Rachel Hartley and Janelle Parrish. We are

both born and raised in NE Portland and have a passion for music. The show will be released

every Monday and covering the topics of new music, mainly music released the previous Friday.

The show will also talk about any new music that listeners request be reviewed. While

discussing the new music, hosts will talk about where the music falls in pop culture today and

pop culture of the past. The podcast will incorporate opinions and knowledge of music to create

a funny and interesting show that will be open-minded and open for anyone to listen. While

discussing new music, the hosts will talk about where the song/album falls within pop culture,

i.e. the history of the artist, the history of the genre, and other artists and/or songs/albums that

are similar. We believe in the freedom of music, we also believe in the discussion and critique of

music, but most importantly we believe in the power that music has with bringing us all together.

Together we hope to not only voice our opinions and have some fun, but to also represent the

community in a way that reflects the art and passion of the Portland.
