DJ Barrows

R. Barrows (DJ Barrows) is an American musician, designer, writer, editor, producer and radio-show host. Having spent time writing music and touring in post-punk acts from the late 90s into the late 2000s, he amassed tastes extending beyond the confines of his punk roots.

In 2011 he began his foray into radio, first appearing on KPSU with Black Prisms and subsequently hosting radio shows on PRA and House of Sound, as well as freelance voiceover work. With Past Haunts, he's established both a radio program to share his enthusiasm for the new sounds of the underground, as well as a monthly concert series to draw emerging acts like Pharmakon, Lust For Youth, Dva Damas, High-Functioning Flesh, DBC, Xeno & Oaklander, Soft Metals, Cult of Youth, and so on to the greater Portland community.
