<< The Future Of What

As the LP format’s popularity continues to grow, independent labels have increasingly sought out older releases to reintroduce to the world. Many of these reissue projects were originally released on vinyl and have been out of print for years, making them difficult for many to access until now. This week we talked to Billy Maupin, General Manager of Yep Roc records, about the label’s recent reissues, including Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet and Eggs Over Easy. We also talked with Eggs Over Easy’s Jack and Audie about the rise of pub rock in the 1970s. Founder of the indie reissue label Light in the Attic, Matt Sullivan, also gave us the scoop on tracking down enigmatic folk musician Sixto Rodriguez.
