Episode 222 - Kriminel
The Jerk is flying solo on the airwaves this week with a timely show celebrating Black History Month in conjunction with the people of Haiti and the Haitian diaspora. Our fascist government is currently attempting to strip 350,000 Haitian immigrants of their temporary protected status as legal residents of this country. A federal judge has blocked this order for the time being, but we know that justice these days is usually fleeting. This week's episode serves to decry this latest moment of cruelty, the continued assault of the ICE gestapo on the citizens of the United States, and most importantly to uplift the people and the culture of Haiti.
This week on Mating Calls tune in to hear 2 hours of Rap Kreyól - hip-hop and rap music performed almost entirely in Haitian Creole. We’re bringing you a diverse and hand selected roster of artists primarily based in Haiti. These artists include: G Bobby Bon Flo, Bennchoumy, Vanessa Desire, Barikad Crew, Mach-Hommy, King Posse, Original Rap Staff, and so, so many more.
