Zelma Sanders had a clear and powerful mission: to seek out the remarkable voices she encountered in her everyday life, bring them into the studio, elevate their talent, and create real opportunities for them within the music industry.
Among her most enduring legacies are introducing the world to Jeanette “Baby” Washington (later inducted into the DJ Action Slacks Dance Hall of Flame) and co-writing and releasing the beloved standard “Sally Go Round the Roses,” recorded by one of her girl-group collectives, The Jaynetts.
