The First Case of the Year End Clearance
Listeners, get ready for a few weeks of big fun on the Adventures. The next 2 weeks close out our first year of broadcasting, and I am throwing out some of the unusual international tracks in my collection that have not yet found a home in my themed broadcasts. After that, I begin cycling back through some of the music I played during the XRAY FM soft launch last year... starting with 3 great shows of music from Africa, Brazil, and Latin America.
This week's show is the Year End Clearance... a grab bag of random international music lovin'. The first hour of today's show features some oddball tracks from Africa, Brazil, and Latin America, as well as some offerings from destinations such as Spain, France, Turkey, and Italy... an Israeli folk tune by Nina Simone... and the gypsy jazz guitar of Hungarian Gabor Szabo.
The second hour today is even more fun: all covers done inna international stylee. Lots of Latin-ized Beatles tunes here, along with a sitar-driven "Light My Fire," bossa nova David Bowie, and the Brazilian version of "Rapper's Delight."
