Happy "Black" Friday my Stapled Hounds! I hope yer Thanksgiving was spent with friends and/or fambly.
I opened this episode with a double shot of Gary U.S. Bonds dedicated to Portland's teachers currently on strike. The Portland Association of Teachers have been in a labor strike since November 1st. Portland Public Schools, the largest school district in Oregon, and the striking PAT represents roughly 3,700 teachers. PAT is fighting for raises to match inflation, smaller class sizes and increased planning time.
My kid, Ramona Cash was a product of PPS and I was an after-school arts & sciences volunteer teacher (teaching grade school kids how ta make ZINES!) I also served a number of years as a PPS custodian to be closer to Rammy when she was in middle school. Public school in Portland is a near and dear topic to me, ya boy: DJ Jack Rudo!
