Episode 64: Charme Offensive Africa 2

12:00pm, 10-4-2020
<< Tropicology

The theme today is another Charme Offensive… that’s “charm” with the French pronunciation, indicating a certain European cafe sensibility in the playlist today. My charme offensive episodes typically focus on the French West Indies with music from Haiti, Martinique, and Guadeloupe… but occasionally I focus on West Africa, especially countries with French and Portuguese language, along with the associated musical cultures. Today we will hear from The Congo, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, and Angola, with a few pieces of Ghana highlife also in the mix.
