Episode 63: PROC Charm to Drum

<< Tropicology

This week I return to one of my common historical show themes, Pirates' Radio of the Caribbean (PROC), a chance to throw together music from Latin America and Brazil. Sometimes PROC focuses on uptown sounds from the dance halls and discotheques, but other times PROC focuses on country sounds from the region. Today's episode will cover those country music sounds.

The episode is divided into 2 chapters: first we will hear sounds on the theme of "charm," retro sounds that remind us how charming music could be in the era before psychedelic guitars and shocking lyrics. The second chapter today is devoted to the drum, with a large sampling of music centered around African drumming. Most, but not all, of the hour 2 material here is religious music from the various African religions that have flourished in the Americas, including Brazilian Candomble and Cuban Santeria.

Being a positive person is a very good thing. I am saying this because I know that odds also came into your favor if you are a positive person. And according to the timberridgedesigns.com/diy-epoxy-countertops-the-perfect-solution-for-resin-worktops/ if you are a positive person then you must consider it a blessing in this negative world.
