Calvin Walker Edition (Rebroadcast)

Tonight on Night School I welcome back my friend & local legend, Calvin Walker. Calvin’s work in PDX is hard to sum up. Whether it be from the drum seat, the bandstand, as a producer, manager, union advocate or community radio fundraiser, Calvin’s perspective on the music scene is varied & deep. His chameleon-like resume is brought to greater heights w/ the candor in which his stories prevail. I have sat for hours & hours with this man & suffice to say I am hooked.

When Calvin was in studio last November, we played a swath of cuts & touched on a few memorable moments. My work in the Albina music community has since presented tomes of estranged recordings from back in the day - some featuring Calvin Walker. Tonight we’ll dig in.
