The First Case of the International Holiday Extravaganza
Dear listeners: today I have the privilege of sending you music on Christmas Day, December 25. I wish all of you a peaceful and friend-filled holiday season.
I have prepared a special set today in honor of the holiday featuring music from Brazil, Africa, and Latin America. None of the music here was written for Christmas... but all this music makes me think of the holidays. This is my first every case of the international holiday extravaganza.
My methodology was simply to look through my international records for songs that aroused some of the same emotions we associate with our holiday season: joy, jolliness, peacefulness, sentimentality, and straight-up churchiness. I hope you have a chance to listen to this set with friends and loved ones. And maybe some drinks.
